I was lucky enough to get away to Wanaka for 2 weeks in September for a bit a spring time fun. I stayed with good friend Mitch Brown and shredded with Conner and Mitch at Cardrona for almost 10 days straight. It was such fun times hitting the mini pipe and sending it off the natural hits.
We managed to squeeze in a fly fish where I hooked a brown Trout. I also organised a “Disc Golf” tournament called the ‘Club House Back 12’, a fun disc golf tournament with friends. It was an awesome night and we are looking forward to bringing it back next year.
Johnny McCormack and I decided a true weekend warrior mission to Mt Ruapehu was long overdue. Our goal was to hike into step terrain that is only accessible using crampons and an ice axe. To find some distinctly Kiwi terrain to photograph. We hiked into the side bowl of Whakapapa and found some amazing terrain. Keep an eye out in the New Zealand Snowboard mags this winter for more shots from the day.
Laura and I thought we would escape the winter cold in New Zealand in search of the Indonesian dry season. We were blown away by the kind spirit of the Balinese people the amazing local food. But more importantly, the cheap living and the world class surf spots that made for an amazing trip! Bali has ever thing you need for an amazing mid-winter holiday and I can’t wait to head back next year.
I cant believe I have already finished one year of Uni! It has been a big change from snowboarding and Building but I am so stoked I made the call to go to uni at AUT in Auckland. Now for an awesome summer of adventures!
Im in Auckland for winter so we decided to get a crew together and try score Mt Ruapehu. We had an awesome crew of Bevan, Gemma and Jazzy who drove up from Wellington. With Laura and I driving down from Auckland. I have never managed to score good snowboarding in the North Island but on the Sunday it was perfect blue skies and the snow was epic! We had an absolute blast riding with a good crew, launching off the natural hits and sending it off some cliffs. I was amazed at how fun Turoa was and look forward to getting back down there again!

While down in Wanaka I headed up the hill to Cardrona NZ one day and the wether was looking bad. I did a quick surf check and saw Porridge in Southland was pumping. I quickly rang Nick Raply and made a impulse decision to jump in the car. We boosted the 4 hour drive ran over the farm land you have to cross to acces the brake and came across this perfect line up with 2 guys out! This ended up being the icing on the cake for the trip!
After Christchurch and Dunedin Bevan and I headed to Wanaka to ride Cardrona NZ. I stayed in Wanaka for 2 weeks and headed up Cardrona early every day. The New small jump line is so fun! There are so many activities to do after riding and I ended up trying to clock them all. I got to catch up with heaps of mates and share a few turns a beers. Was an awesome trip I cant wait to go back in spring.
